Christmas Morning Inspiration
#

After opening presents on Christmas morning, I was inspired to create a new project. I received a Tech Deck set and my son a Brio train set. I tried to fingerboard on the train tracks, but the wheels were too big. I thought it would be cool to make a fingerboard with train wheels. I’m not sure if it’s been done before, but I’m going to give it a try.

The design process was pretty straightforward. I measured the appropriate dimensions of the Tech Deck wheels and Brio wheels. I knew adopting a more Brio-style wheel would get the desired outcome. I also knew I didn’t have a lot of vertical space to work with, because it would be difficult to get the wheels to fit under the deck.

The track test worked well. The wheels were a good fit, but slightly too small. There was a very slight dragging on the bottom of the truck, where the bolt stuck out. I needed to ensure the wheels were small enough not to hit the board but big enough to clear the track. It took a few more prints to get it perfect.

It took me about 11 prints to perfect it. The end result can be found on MakerVerse - https://makerworld.com/en/models/107981#profileId-115280
