Inspiration

I love playing with brio and magnet tiles. I have spent many hours building things, and I wanted a better option for integrating these two systems.

What are magnet tiles?

I found out there are so many different brands of Magnet Tiles. The brand we are using is called Lotmey. They are plastic polygons with magnets on their edges to allow for easy construction of 3D structures. Many magnet tile sets have snap in plastic windows that allow for decoration. We are going to use this as an integration point for a Brio track.

Design

I took out the old handy calipers and sketched up something in Fusion 360. I also sketched up the Brio track from scratch. Here is the result being previewed in Bambu Studio:

Final adjustments

The first iteration was close, but not quite perfect. The size of the insert was too small, and tabs had to be added. The placement of the brio track was off-center and made attachment with a ramp piece difficult.

A few more adjustments in Fusion 360 got us to our final working design!
